An artist working in the medium of paper, based in the discipline of origami

As a teenager in the 60’s, Joan’s interest in origami began when she learned to fold the traditional crane. She debuted her art in the windows of Tiffany & Company in the Spring of 1993. Her work has been carried by several museum shops including the National Gallery of Art and the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. Joan’s 2002 exhibit at the C. G. Jung Center in Houston allowed her to complete her personal 1,000 crane project that began in 1992. Her art, ranging from small pieces to major, commissioned installations, may be found in private collections throughout the United States. She is a member of the professional organization Origami USA. For more information please see my resume.

"Truly I stand upon the shoulders of the early paper folders. And I am grateful to the modern origami creators who have been so generous to allow me to use their designs in my work. Thank you very much."

This is my experience with a medium and an art that I love. That I find magic in the manipulation of paper... that others might get a glimpse of the source through my eyes... this is my wish, my pleasure and my plan.
